On December 23-26, 2025, a special professional development training involving the academy's teachers was held at the International horse breeding academy named after Aba Annayev within the framework of the ERASMUS+ program's project "Green Deal for Central Asian Universities" (GDCAU).
The main objective of this training program was to deeply understand sustainability principles and integrate them into the academic environment, as well as to prepare teachers as pioneering leaders in sustainable development using innovative pedagogical methods.
During the four-day training, special attention was paid to the following key objectives:
- Improving and modernizing curricula in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Identifying effective and unique guidelines for sustainability-oriented courses.
- Practically applying active teaching methods such as simulations, role-plays, and game-based learning in classes.
During the practical training, which consisted of two stages, the participants first updated their curricula according to the Sustainable Development Goals, presented their newly prepared syllabuses to other team members, and exchanged views.
In the second stage, the teachers learned how to practically apply the latest innovative teaching methods, such as gamification and role-plays, in their lessons. They tested these new methods in practice through live classroom presentations.
At the end of the program, every participating group successfully updated their curricula according to the SDGs. The participants completed the program having mastered not only theoretical knowledge but also the skills and high-impact educational materials necessary to teach sustainability concepts to students, ready to further improve the quality of education at the academy.
