AKHAL-TEKE HORSES, A MODEL OF BEAUTY AND HARMONY - A MIRACLE OF WORLD HORSE BREEDING

On December 19, 2023, an online conference “Akhal-Teke horses, a model of beauty and harmony - a miracle of world horse breeding” was held, which was organized by the UNESCO club “Akhal-Teke horses - envoys of peace” at the International horse breeding academy named after Aba Annaev. The event is dedicated to the inclusion of Akhal-Teke horse breeding art and decoration traditions in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Akhal-Teke horses have been famous for their outstanding qualities. A whole layer of traditions has developed around them - from naming rituals to equestrian competitions and wedding ceremonies. Knowledge and skills of horse breeding are passed on from generation to generation in Turkmenistan and are part of the historical and cultural heritage of the country. The conference, held in digital format, was attended by representatives of the Secretariat of the National Committee of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, as well as representatives of UNESCO clubs and departments that operate in higher educational institutions of the country. They include Turkmen National Institute of World Languages ​​named after Dovletmammmet Azadi, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Turkmen Agricultural Institute, State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryev, Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi. The main goal of the conference is to show the advanced level of equestrian science in the country, to study and promote the origin of our Akhal-Teke horses. Ample opportunities are being created for studying the Akhal-Teke equestrian system in Turkmenistan on a scientific basis, introducing the latest achievements of science and technology into this system. At the end of the conference, the meeting participants expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the respected President of Turkmenistan for their tireless care for youth and government activities aimed at achieving a happy life for the Turkmen people.
